Constipation can be an uncomfortable experience and affects many individuals.
It is the passage of two or fewer stools per week. Constipation can be hard, dry stools which are difficult to pass.

Causes of Constipation:

  1. poor eating habits (Too much caffeine, irregular eating times, too much junk food)
  2. Diet lacking in fiber
  3. Lack of exercise
  4. Stress
  5. Some medications
  6. Pregnancy
  7. Travel

Steps to Improve Constipation:

  1. Gradually add high-fiber foods to diet (fruit,unpeeled raw vegetables, bran cereals and whole grain breads)
  2. Drink 6 to 8 glasses of juice or water daily
  3. Regular exercise program
  4. Use high-fiber laxative to help stay regular
  5. Use other laxatives only recommended by your physician
