OVERVIEW

Surgical Associates of Palm Beach County (SAPBC) is the oldest and largest Multi-Specialty Surgical group practice in South Palm Beach County , with over 250 years of combined surgical experience

The group is made up of 14 surgical specialists offering the finest and latest treatment for a wide variety of surgical problems.

Surgical Associates of Palm Beach County (SAPBC) was founded in 1998 by the merging of two well established Surgical Practices-- Boca Surgical Associates and Surgical Associates of South Palm Beach County. For many years, the founders of both surgical groups provided their patients with quality surgical care. Today, as the result of joining practices, SAPBC is able to provide more advanced, efficient and broader coverage for their surgical patients. Quality outcomes and our commitment to constant improvement are our main goals.

All of our Surgeons  are proficient in advanced laparoscopic surgery , as well as other minimally invasive surgical techniques within their specialty. We provide special expertise in Abdominal, Colon and Rectal, Hernia, Breast, Thyroid and Parathyroid, Gall Bladder, Vascular and Endovascular, Thoracic, Oncological Surgery and treatment for varicose veins.

PRACTICING AS A GROUP

SAPBC is a group practice. As such, we share coverage with each other on an alternating basis. This assures the patient continuity of care, since we each have access to your medical records. At least two of our surgeons are available for emergencies seven days a week, twenty four hours a day. In addition, we frequently assist each other in the Operating Room with the more challenging surgical cases and have open discussions about complicated medical and surgical problems if they should arise. Your care while in the hospital is supervised by your surgeon or in his absence, by one of the other surgeons in the group. If you are hospitalized, you will be seen at least once a day by either your surgeon or by one of his associates.

INSURANCE COMPANY REQUIREMENTS

Surgical Associates of Palm Beach County is co ntracted with most major insurance plans, including Medicare. We participate in many HMO's and PPOs as well as many traditional health plans. If your plan requires a referral from your primary care physician, it is your responsibility to make sure this referral is in place before your visit . Please be aware of your insurance company's requirements and conditions for hospital admission. If your plan requires authorization prior to us ordering certain tests, or performing surgery, then we will obtain this for you.

All deductibles and co-payments are the patient's responsibility, and their payment, as well as any other non-covered charges, is expected at the time of your office visit. For your convenience, we accept cash, personal checks, Master Card and Visa credit cards for payment of services.

Depending on which insurance plan you are contracted with, you may be asked to visit with one of our insurance counselors to discuss your financial responsibility prior to scheduling any surgery. Having a full understanding of your financial responsibility from the start will alleviate any confusion that may arise after your operation.
